Basketball Recap: Jackson Academy Comes Up Short

Jackson Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Snook Christian Academy Eagles 73-35. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Jackson Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-25 back in January.

Snook Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dawson Pierce out in front who went 7 of 15 en route to 22 points and six steals. Those 22 points gave Pierce a new career-high. Josh Gabel was another key player, going 9 for 16 on his way to 20 points and seven boards.

Jackson Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Snook Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Jackson Academy will challenge Southern Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Snook Christian Academy has already played their next match, a 44-35 victory against Sparta Academy on the 31st.
