Volleyball Recap: Pacheco Panthers vs. Lathrop Spartans
Pacheco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lathrop Spartans, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
The final score came out to 25-13, 25-13, 25-16.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lathrop to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jorge Reyes, who had 18 assists and four aces. Another player making a difference was Edmund Balugo, who had four aces and two assists.
Pacheco's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Lathrop, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pacheco will face off against rival Central Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lathrop is set to square off against their familiar foe Grace Davis at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
