The Montgomery Red Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Canton Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12 runs per game this season.

Montgomery's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Wyalusing Valley hitters got past them. The Red Raiders fell 11-6 to the Rams on Thursday. It was the first time this season that the Red Raiders let down their fans at home.

Madisyn Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Houseknect, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Canton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Athens, falling 11-0.

This is the second loss in a row for Montgomery and nudges their season record down to 13-3. As for Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Montgomery has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Canton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Montgomery beat Canton 7-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
