Volleyball Recap: Starkville Comes Up Short

Starkville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Madison Central Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-12, 19-25, 25-17, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Starkville still got an impressive performance from Tatum Still, who had 19 digs and one assist.

Starkville now has a losing record of 8-9-1. As for Madison Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Starkville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Pelham on the 22nd. As for Madison Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against McAdory on the 22nd.
