Softball Recap: Holbrook Takes a Loss

Holbrook extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping their season record down to 11-15 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Snowflake Lobos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lobos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in March.

Holbrook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elena Philpott, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Snowflake, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6. The result was nothing new for the Lobos, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Snowflake's side, Kashlynn Cantrell spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Taya Schneider, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brittyn Butler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Holbrook didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 win against Alchesay on the 28th. As for Snowflake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-5 victory against Winslow on the 28th.
