Football Recap: Payson Lions vs. Maple Mountain Golden Eagles
Payson lost against Maple Mountain back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lions lost to the Golden Eagles at home by a 42-28 margin. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trevyn Wall, who threw for 365 yards and three TDs. 81 of those passing yards were hauled in by David Fullmer, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Cole Allred had an outrageously good game for Maple Mountain as he rushed for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 227 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes. Another player making a difference was Sam Mcgary, who rushed for 90 yards and one score on only five carries.
Payson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Maple Mountain, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
