Baseball Game Preview: East Burke Cavaliers vs. Lincolnton Wolves

The East Burke Cavaliers will venture away from home to square off against the Lincolnton Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Burke's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Lincolnton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

East Burke was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Bunker Hill 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cavaliers have posted since March 14th.

Meanwhile, Lincolnton came up short against West Caldwell on Friday, falling 10-4.

Lincolnton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karson Cloninger, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The Wolves are 3-1 when Cloninger posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise.

East Burke's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Lincolnton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

East Burke beat Lincolnton 6-3 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
