Central Catholic lost to Sotomayor back in March of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Buttons narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the WILDCATS 6-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buttons.

Daniel Lopez looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Roman Garcia was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jason Herrera, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Central Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Central Catholic's record is now 4-2. As for Sotomayor, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1-1.

Looking ahead, Central Catholic will face off against Regents at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sotomayor, they will challenge Brennan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
