While Nemaha Central's victory against Hiawatha wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Thunder had just enough and edged out the Red Hawks 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Nemaha Central's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hiawatha, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nemaha Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Jefferson West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Thunder 3.5, the Tigers 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Hiawatha will square off against rival Rossville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
