Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kewanee). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 64-35 win over the Stark County Rebels. Given the Boilermakers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Rebels are ranked 627th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kewanee is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Stark County, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-8.

Kewanee and Forreston will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Forreston will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Kewanee surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stark County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bureau Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
