Recap: Suwannee Bulldogs vs. Palatka Panthers
There's no place like home for the Suwannee Bulldogs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 54-42 win over Palatka on Tuesday. The win was just what Suwannee needed coming off of a 51-19 defeat in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Shadavia Jones, who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Suwannee's points. Another player making a difference was Zjamyah Wilson, who scored 10 points.
Palatka's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charnelle Cue , who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caliya Jones, who scored 9 points.
Suwannee now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Palatka, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Suwannee will challenge Gadsden County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gadsden County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Palatka, they will head out on the road to face off against Baldwin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
