            Softball Recap: Whale Branch Warriors vs. Lake Marion Gators        
        
		
        
        
            After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Whale Branch brought some dynamite into their most recent  match. They put the hurt on the Lake Marion Gators with a sharp  42-33 win on Tuesday. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Whale Branch got a  massive  performance out of  Sylise Edwards, who  got on base  in six of her eight plate appearances with four  runs, two  triples,  and two  stolen bases. Edwards also  brought in five  RBI, marking her first of the season.  Ny'Asia Jackson was another key player,  scoring seven  runs and  stealing eight bases while  getting on base  in all eight of her plate appearances.

 Whale Branch  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .746. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Whale Branch's  win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Lake Marion, their loss was  their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 2-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whale Branch will venture away from home to  face off against Cross  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Lake Marion, they will head out to  challenge Whale Branch  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
