Baseball Recap: Hillsborough Takes a Loss

Hillsborough came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Ridge Red Devil, falling 7-1. The Raiders have struggled against the Red Devil recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Hillsborough got a good showing from Kyle Simonitis, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Hillsborough's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

While Hillsborough had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
