Preview: South Central Trojans vs. Seneca East Tigers
South Central has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Seneca East Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 790th, while Seneca East is ranked 250th).
South Central suffered their biggest loss since December 16, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 67-45 walloping at the hands of Plymouth. South Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.
Gunner Ray put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eric Sanders, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Seneca East beat Arcadia 52-44 on Saturday. That's two games straight that Seneca East has won by exactly eight points.
South Central bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Seneca East, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
Everything came up roses for South Central against Seneca East when the teams last played back in December of 2015 as the squad secured a 81-50 victory. Will South Central repeat their success, or does Seneca East have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
