Milford waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the West Bloomfield Lakers. That's more bragging rights for the Mavericks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Milford won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23.

Lexa Pierson paced Milford's offense, picking up 13 kills. Pierson got some help from Ryleigh Johnston and her 16 assists. Pierson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Milford's win bumped their record up to 10-2-1. As for West Bloomfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Milford will take on South Lyon East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Bloomfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Groves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
