Football Recap: Burges Mustangs vs. Canutillo Eagles

If Burges was riding high off their 53-12 takedown of Fabens last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Burges Mustangs came up short against the Canutillo Eagles on Friday, falling 34-10. The Mustangs have struggled against the Eagles recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Marcus Sanchez threw for 164 yards on 17 of 25 attempts. Jayden Bowser was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards. On the ground, Luke Dexter-Quinn rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Rene Huerta was a one-man wrecking crew for Canutillo as he picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
