Softball Recap: Delta Comes Up Short

Delta extended their losing streak to 12 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-13 in the process. They lost 10-4 to the Patrick Henry Patriots. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Patrick Henry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 16-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Patrick Henry, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Patrick Henry's part, Faith Meyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Kasey Nelson was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Scherdt, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Delta has already played their next game (against North Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Patrick Henry, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-6 win against Liberty Center on the 13th.
