Volleyball Recap: Trimble Starts Season with Loss at Home

Trimble unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Southern Tornadoes on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Tomcats have struggled against the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-15.

When it comes to explaining why Trimble lost, don't look at Alyvia Portier. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs and two assists. Portier is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

The win (which was Southern's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Trimble didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Nelsonville-York on the 23rd. Southern has also already played their next game (against Wahama), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
