Soccer Game Preview: Hawken vs. Gilmour Academy

Hawken hasn't had much luck against Gilmour Academy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Hawks will challenge the Lancers at 11:00 a.m. Hawken will be strutting in after a win while Gilmour Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Hawken barely beat Orange the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Monday. Considering Hawken's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Orange with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sophina Cowen (2), Sophia Cicerini, Caroline Briggs, and Isla Carlisle.

Meanwhile, Gilmour Academy came up short against Archbishop Hoban on Wednesday and fell 4-2. Gilmour Academy haven't had much luck with Archbishop Hoban recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Gilmour Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-2. As for Hawken, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-4-2.

Hawken suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Gilmour Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
