Basketball Game Preview: Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights vs. Muncy Indians

Neumann Regional Academy and Muncy are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Muncy Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Neumann Regional Academy is headed into the match having just posted their closest victory since December 21, 2024 on Wednesday. They skirted past Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy 76-73.

Neumann Regional Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Daiton Thompson out in front who posted 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Walter, who scored 16 points.

Meanwhile, Muncy entered their tilt with Montgomery on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Red Raiders 64-42. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 22 points or more this season.

Muncy's win came from a few key players Neumann Regional Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Stiles Eyer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kyran Lisembee, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points and five boards.

Muncy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Neumann Regional Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Muncy, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
