Basketball Recap: Maynard Takes a Loss

Maynard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sutton Sammies. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sammies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Sutton was led to victory by Gus Jacobson and Chase Gara. Jacobson posted 14 points, while Gara earned 13 points.

Maynard's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Sutton, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Maynard will host Narragansett Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sutton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Millbury at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Sutton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season.
