Volleyball Recap: Caleigh Garcia Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Alamogordo

Las Cruces won the last time they faced Alamogordo and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldawgs blew past the Tigers 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Las Cruces took every set by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-8, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Las Cruces to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleigh Garcia, who had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Garcia has posted since back in October.

Garcia wasn't the only good servers: Las Cruces was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Las Cruces' record is now 22-0. As for Alamogordo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Las Cruces is set to challenge their familiar foe Centennial at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Alamogordo will square off against rival Gadsden at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
