Flag Football Recap: Resurrection Takes a Loss

Resurrection fell victim to Loyola Academy and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Ramblers and fell 39-0. While losing is never fun, the Bandits can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Ramblers are ranked 18th).

Resurrection didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Giovanna Lee and Abby Acierno. Morgan Schreiber was another major factor on D, picking up three sacks and making four total tackles.

Resurrection has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Loyola Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-4.

Resurrection wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 26-12 win against Saint Ignatius College Prep on the 2nd. Loyola Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
