Basketball Recap: Homer Comes Up Short

Homer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 45-25 to the Kenai Central Kardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mariners have suffered against the Kardinals since March 10, 2023.

Homer's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Kenai Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homer will welcome Nikiski at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kenai Central, they will square off against Redington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
