Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Laney

Laney waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the New Hanover Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-1 win last Tuesday.

Laney never let New Hanover on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 25-13.

Skyler Ryan paced Laney's offense, picking up ten kills. Ryan got some help from Abigail (Abbey) Hendren and her 15 assists. Finally, Ryan was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Laney's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for New Hanover, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

As of now, neither Laney nor New Hanover have any future games scheduled.
