Football Recap: Brophy College Prep Falls Despite Big Games from Case Vanden Bosch and Devin Fitzgerald + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brophy College Prep can now relate to. They fell 45-34 to the Chandler Wolves on Friday. The Broncos haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Devin Fitzgerald and Case Vanden Bosch certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Fitzgerald picked up 253 receiving yards and four TDs, while Vanden Bosch threw for 372 yards and four touchdowns. With that strong performance, Fitzgerald is now averaging an impressive 102.5 receiving yards per game.

Will Mencl was his usual excellent self, rushing for 146 yards and three scores while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 281 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt for Chandler. Mencl's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wolves' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. David Douglas helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards.

Brophy College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Chandler, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Brophy College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chandler, they will square off against Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
