Soccer Game Preview: Horizon vs. Legacy

Horizon is 1-7-1 against Legacy since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hawks will face off against the Lightning at 4:00 p.m.

Horizon is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Broomfield on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Considering the last time Horizon couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Legacy came tearing into Tuesday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.6 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Knights. Legacy's winning goal came courtesy of Anaya Bursey.

Legacy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those six matchups. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2-1.
