The DeWitt Dragons will square off against the Rison Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. DeWitt is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
DeWitt's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against McGehee as they made off with a 15-0 win. Considering the Dragons have won five games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Khloe Llyod made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jordyn Easterwood and Harley Grammer did most of the damage at the plate: Easterwood went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Grammer went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Daisy Pettway was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rison unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 9-5 to Quitman.
Riley Hyatt made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlyn Price, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
DeWitt's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Rison, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
DeWitt beat Rison 4-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
