Baseball Game Preview: Middletown Middies vs. Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS

The Middletown Middies will head out to square off against the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Middletown has struggled recently with 14 defeats in a row, while Madeira will arrive with three straight wins.

Middletown lost 25-1 to Oak Hills on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Madeira got the win against Finneytown on Wednesday by a conclusive 8-2.

Keegan World was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Carson Shafer, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Madeira lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Madeira's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Middletown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Middletown came out on top in a nail-biter against Madeira in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Middies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
