Softball Game Preview: Midlakes Screaming Eagles vs. Wayne Eagles

The Midlakes Screaming Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Wayne Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Midlakes lost 15-4 to Mynderse Academy on Wednesday. The Screaming Eagles haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Waterloo hit Wayne with a four-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-2. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Wayne saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wayne fell to 2-1. As for Midlakes, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Midlakes got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Wayne by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Screaming Eagles repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
