Softball Recap: Bonham Comes Up Short

Bonham made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sanger, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors fell just short of the Indians by a score of 9-7 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since February 26th.

Annalyn Stafford spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Bonham got a massive performance out of Jewyll Hemby, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Katy Harrison, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs.

Bonham has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9-1 record this season. As for Sanger, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9-3.

Coincidentally, Bonham and Sanger will both be playing Celina the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Indians will host them at 6:30 p.m. on the 10th.
