Preview: Hialeah Thoroughbreds vs. Dr. Krop Lightning
The Hialeah Thoroughbreds will head out on the road to face off against the Dr. Krop Lightning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hialeah is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
Hialeah can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over Carol City on the road. Given Hialeah's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Carol City is ranked 364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hialeah can attribute much of their success to Travis ? T7 ? Delaney Jr ??, who threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. Keon Black jr got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Hialeah's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 11 sacks. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Meanwhile, Dr. Krop started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against McArthur. They fell 15-7 to the Mustangs on Friday. Dr. Krop has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hialeah's win bumped their season record to 8-1 while Dr. Krop's loss dropped theirs to 4-5.
Hialeah came up short against Dr. Krop in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 23-18. Thankfully for Hialeah, Julius Pascal (who rushed for 180 yards while picking up 10.6 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
