Volleyball Recap: Perryton's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hereford, Perryton was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Borger Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rangers as it put an end to their seven-match losing streak.

While Perryton might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Borger scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-22, 25-27, 25-19.

Brooklyn Kile paced Perryton's offense, picking up 17 kills. Kile got some help from Tana Williams and her 38 assists. Williams also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jimena Monreal, each putting up three.

Perryton's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 8-18. As for Borger, they dropped their record down to 8-18 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Perryton is set to take on their familiar foe Randall at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Borger will square off against rival West Plains at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
