Soccer Recap: Spanish Fork Takes a Loss

Spanish Fork fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Maple Mountain on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Spanish Fork of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ben Clayson and Alan Ledesma scored both of Spanish Fork's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Spanish Fork now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Maple Mountain, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

The future could be bright for both Spanish Fork and Maple Mountain: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Spanish Fork will try to hand Springville their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on April 8. Meanwhile, Maple Mountain will look to extend Cedar Valley's four-game losing streak when they meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
