Football Game Preview: Lamar Warriors vs. Pottsville Apaches + Official Tickets

The Lamar Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Pottsville Apaches at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Friday, Lamar ended up a good deal behind Dardanelle and lost 35-21. The Warriors were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the defeat, Lamar had strong showings from Eli Jones, who rushed for 36 yards and one score, and Ayden Sanders, who picked up 74 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Pottsville played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 51-20 loss at the hands of Ozark.

Lamar has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Pottsville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Lamar was able to grind out a solid win over Pottsville when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 24-17. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
