It was fun while it lasted, but Poly's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Santiago Sharks. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Santiago scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23.

Having lost for the first time this season, Poly fell to 5-1. As for Santiago, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coming up, Poly will challenge Murrieta Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santiago, they will square off against Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Centennial has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
