Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gordon-Rushville). They snuck past the Leyton Warriors with a 66-62 victory on Saturday.

Daniel Martins was nothing short of spectacular: he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Leeper, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Gordon-Rushville was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Gordon-Rushville's win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for Leyton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gordon-Rushville will take on Morrill in a tournament on Thursday. Morrill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season. As for Leyton, they will square off against Sedgwick County on Tuesday. One thing working in Leyton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
