Basketball Recap: Pass Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bryant last Friday, Pass Christian came back down to earth. The Pirates took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans on Saturday.

Northeast Lauderdale found their leader in sophomore Derion McElroy, who posted 16 points and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McElroy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Calvin Scott, who put up five points.

Pass Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Northeast Lauderdale, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6.

Pass Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-57 victory against Columbia on the 16th. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-36 win against New Hope on the 16th.
