Basketball Recap: Gainesville Takes a Loss

Gainesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Norwood Pirates 64-22. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Norwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Chambers out in front who went 5-for-6 en route to 13 points and five rebounds. Chambers is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games she's played. Autumn Gunter was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Gainesville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Norwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Coming up, Gainesville will be playing at home against Conway at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Norwood, they will head out to square off against Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
