Basketball Recap: Wylie Prep Academy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Wylie Prep Academy had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 45-28 bruising from the Yavneh Academy Bulldogs. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 5-0 in the first quarter.

Jordyn Spalding was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 17 points in addition to five assists and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Yavneh Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Lily Rael, who went 6-for-14 en route to 14 points.

Yavneh Academy now has a winning record of 2-1.

Wylie Prep Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Coram Deo Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Yavneh Academy, they will be playing at home against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
