Volleyball Recap: Johnson-Brock Eagles vs. Auburn Bulldogs

Johnson-Brock was the 3-0 winner over Auburn when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-9, 17-25, 25-23.

Kasie Knippelmeyer paced Johnson-Brock's offense, picking up 15 kills. Knippelmeyer got some help from Kinley Vice and her 35 assists.

Auburn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Graycen Jones led the charge by getting 15 digs and two assists. Those 15 digs gave Jones a new career-high. Brynn Casey was another key player, getting 14 digs and one assist.

Johnson-Brock has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Auburn, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson-Brock will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Freeman on the 25th. As for Auburn, they will take on Ashland-Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
