After flying high against West Franklin last Friday, Central Heights came back down to earth. The Central Heights Vikings had to suffer through a 58-0 loss at the hands of the Council Grove Braves. The game marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Central Heights didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Colt King.

Cade Goodell was a one-man wrecking crew for Council Grove as he rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and a touchdown. Blaise French was another key back, rushing for 57 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

The defeat snapped Central Heights' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. As for Council Grove, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Heights will welcome Eureka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Council Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Marys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
