Baseball Game Preview: Haslett Vikings vs. Holt Rams

The Haslett Vikings will face off against the Holt Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Haslett is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Haslett lost 12-5 to Williamston on Tuesday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ayden Smith made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Haslett: the team is 9-3 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Curtis, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Holt came out on top against St. Johns on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Rams narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Redwings 9-8.

Holt has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Haslett, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.
