Basketball Game Preview: Mason Comets vs. Hamilton Big Blue

The Mason Comets will take on the Hamilton Big Blue at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mason is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Mason is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 60 points last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Lakota West on Friday. They were dealt a 66-29 defeat at the hands of the Firebirds. The Comets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-17.

Meanwhile, Hamilton came into Tuesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 68-58 victory over Miamisburg on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 31-31 at the break, but the Big Blue were the better team in the second half.

Hamilton's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11. As for Mason, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Mason and Hamilton were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but Mason came up empty-handed after a 50-49 defeat. Can Mason avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
