Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Emerson Boyd and Avery Gray Lead Lovejoy to Victory

Lovejoy lost to Hebron back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Leopards put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Leopards.

While Lovejoy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Hebron scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.

Lovejoy was led to victory by Avery Gray and Emerson Boyd. Gray had 17 digs and four assists, while Boyd had 14 assists and seven digs. Gray is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Maddox Whitlow and Camryn Colon certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Whitlow had 18 digs and two assists, while Colon had seven assists and four digs.

Lovejoy's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Hebron, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Lovejoy has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Coronado on the 21st. As for Hebron, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against McKinney on the 21st.
