Recap: Hoisington Cardinals vs. Minneapolis Lions
The Hoisington Cardinals suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 62-38 defeat at the hands of Minneapolis. Hoisington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Minneapolis apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2017.
When it comes to explaining why Hoisington lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kylee Hahn. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Hahn has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Jordyn Boxberger was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Hoisington's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Minneapolis, their victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoisington and Phillipsburg will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Phillipsburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Hoisington is ranked 33rd). Minneapolis will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Hillsboro on January 26th.
