Basketball Game Preview: Reagan Raiders vs. South Stokes Sauras

The Reagan Raiders and the South Stokes Sauras will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Reagan is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since December 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Parkland by a score of 65-62.

Meanwhile, South Stokes suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by East Surry and fell 68-35. While losing is never fun, the Sauras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Cardinals are ranked 33rd).

Reagan's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for South Stokes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Reagan strolled past South Stokes when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 58-41. Will Reagan repeat their success, or does South Stokes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
