Volleyball Recap: Addison Kilmer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mountain View over Western Wayne

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Western Wayne Wildcats. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Mountain View started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-13, 25-17, 26-24.

Mountain View lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Addison Kilmer, who had 12 kills, six digs, and three blocks. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 17 times she's played. Aubrey Sanders was another key player, getting 19 assists and six digs.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Western Wayne, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mountain View is set to take on their familiar foe Susquehanna at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Western Wayne will face off against rival Lackawanna Trail at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
