Volleyball Recap: Westfield Takes Down Ranked Southport

Westfield faced Southport in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Shamrocks came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Shamrocks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

CJ Fox paced Westfield's offense, picking up four kills. Fox got some help from Evan Huhn and his nine assists. Finally, Fletcher Farrar kept Westfield's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Westfield's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Southport, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Westfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Lincoln-Way East on the 10th. As for Southport, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Franklin Community on the 10th.
