Basketball Game Preview: Culver Academies Eagles vs. Mishawaka Marian Knights

Culver Academies is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Mishawaka Marian is on a 12-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Culver Academies Eagles will welcome the Mishawaka Marian Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are at an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but likely not for long.

Culver Academies is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 74 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Tippecanoe Valley on Saturday. They fell to the Vikings 32-27. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mishawaka Marian beat Elkhart 61-56 on Thursday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Lions are ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Culver Academies' defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Mishawaka Marian, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Culver Academies came up short against Mishawaka Marian when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 35-24. Can Culver Academies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
